Our Annual Memorial Event

On Saturday, August 30th, 2025, The Giraffe House opened its doors for a very special day of tours and celebration, honoring the life and times of our late wife, mother, and matriarch, Lisa Allen Lybrand.

For those who didn’t know her: Lisa was the heart behind—and the sole curator of—the 2,500+ pieces of giraffe-themed art and memorabilia now on display at The Giraffe House. After Lisa's passing, we established the LAL Collection & Gallery as a way to pay tribute to Lisa's legacy.

Tours, Talks, & Tales of Lisa

Saturday was a day of celebration and remembrance, offering 50% off admission and free tours for kids, complimentary giraffe swag, and a 5 pm cocktail bell-ringing ceremony for close family, friends, and neighbors (a loving soirée that—no surprise—lingered well into the night).

We’re so grateful to everyone who joined us in curiosity, love, charity, and celebration on August 30th for what seems to have become something of an annual Portland tradition. Thank you to all for your support!

And for those who couldn’t be there this time, we hope to welcome you to our annual memorial event next year.
