About the Lisa Allen Lybrand Memorial Collection & Gallery

This remarkable collection belonged to the late Lisa Allen Lybrand (1956-2022) and features over 2,500 three-dimensional pieces, along with an equal number of prints, paintings, and artistic renderings—totaling approximately 5,000 giraffe-themed items. The collection also includes a fascinating array of antiques and memorabilia displayed throughout the home and grounds.

Visitors can explore the collection in a variety of ways, including in-person and private tours, community events, and venue rentals. Limited-edition artwork and souvenirs are also available for purchase in our online gift shop.

Meet the Owners of The Giraffe House...

Bert Lybrand is the Executive Director of The Giraffe House as well as the artist behind many of the most celebrated works in the collection.

Lisa Allen Lybrand (1956-2021) was a wife, mother, and Gigi ("Giraffe Grandma") and the 'raison d'etre' behind The Giraffe House Collection & Gallery.

A special kind of love brought these two wacky Californians to Portland over 40 years ago —and it's now Bert's continued devotion to Lisa's legacy that has brought the GH Project to life.
